A Sydneysider’s guide to episode 12 of Free! Eternal Summer - “We’re going to Australia!”

This episode was very well illustrated. It really makes me proud to live in Sydney!

Rin is right! Anyone is allowed to swim here! I had my high school regional swimming carnival here.

Harry’s Cafe de Wheels

An iconic franchise that famous for its pies, in particular the ‘Tiger’. The ‘Tiger’ is a meat pie covered with mashed potato, mashed peas and gravy. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted! The stores have pictures of famous people who have visited.

I’d love to hear from you! Is there anything I missed?

Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #0

I really appreciated all the little nods to Clint’s deafness in this issue. I’m glad other writers are acknowledging it and it’s not just a temporary thing in Fraction’s run. I also enjoy the fact that Wade apparently knows sign language.

Also deadpool has his mask up to expose his lips so Hawkeye can read his lips so he doesn’t have to sign everything

I love Deadpool so much, you guys. Love love him. Every time I find out something new about Deadpool, I love him more, because it’s always shit like this.

Deadpool is lovely.

I made an old lady blush today at work because she ordered two senior coffees and I said “SENIOR ? I’m sorry miss, i’m going to have to ask to see some ID.” and she covered her mouth and went “Oh dear me” and couldn’t stop smiling

Bless your soul

Is there anything y’all can do about him pulling that? He needs to be put in his place.

I talked to the woman who was communicating with the organisation that commissioned him and she’s got the same concerns.  She’s going to email him, and we were careful when we were being interviewed, but I fear a lot will be left to his editing.

This is a generalization.

case in point

Dude’s here making a doco about our project and he is getting everything wrong. Talking to disabled people like they’re dull children, talking about how the project has ‘helped’ us, talking about it like it’s a class where we’re learning to write as opposed to being a group of writers with disability doing a project together. I feel like I might regret agreeing to be a part of this.

"why dont you just give him a chance"

idk because im not physically or mentally attracted to him and ‘but he likes you’ or ‘but hes really nice’ isnt going to change the fact that im not interested

Damn, I don’t think women know how much that really hurts

I think it’s to do with the fact that being the first person to a place is awkward. It’s smoother to settle in if you get there late, because there’s already people there to welcome you… so it’s also more “fashionable”

the problem with that though is then it becomes a game of who can stay away the longest since nobody wants to be first.  ideally it shouldn’t be awkward if you’re first since the host should make you feel welcome.

got called back for another interview for this job

they’ve had so many rounds of screening at this point that if i don’t get it i’m just going to dig a hole to lie in and wait for the end

you know what i still don’t get?  being fashionably late

when i was growing up it was always ‘be there on time’ and on time is the time the host has specified.  none of this ‘the party starts at 8 but they really mean 9’ nonsense.  ’fashionably late’ meant ‘i couldn’t be bothered to show up when you asked me to’.

now sometimes i show up later cause i know that’s how a lot of people operate, but i don’t like it.  why?  is it a cultural thing?  i don’t get it.
